Dynamo Dojo takes you from complete beginner to Dynamo ninja. Using a project-based approach, you’ll learn how to automate Revit fast. 

You'll learn my exact process for creating Dynamo tools. You'll also learn the important concepts–without bogging you down with meaningless jargon.

Each week of the five week course focuses on completing a specific project in Dynamo. Projects range from creating a parametric tower to generating sheets and views. At the end of each lesson, you’ll have a fully-functioning Dynamo tool you can put to use right away. 

By the end of the program, you will have a toolbox that will save you at least an hour of work each week.

Real-Time Learning

Best of all, you won't be doing this alone. Dynamo Dojo is a five-week program. Each week consists of two class sessions; one on Tuesday and the other on Friday. Tuesday will be a teaching session while the Friday session is for review. All class sessions will be conducted online via GoToMeeting. 

During the Tuesday sessions, you will learn different "moves" in Dynamo. You will put these moves together in a "combination", which will automate a real-world task. 

At the end of the class, you will have a "challenge" to complete. This challenge will build upon the week's combination and is intended to grow your Dynamo skills.  

During the Friday session, we will review the week's challenge in an interactive setting. This is your opportunity to ask questions. We will walk through the challenge solution and you will learn ways you could modify the script for different purposes.  

In addition to the class sessions, you will also get access to a private online community to communicate with me and other students between sessions.

Q. When does Dynamo Dojo start and how long does it last?

A. The course starts next Tuesday, October 6th, and runs for five weeks. Each week, we'll meet online for a 1-hour training session on Tuesday and a 1-hour review session on Friday.

Q. How is the course structured and what time are the classes?

A. We will meet each Tuesday and Friday at 2 pm ET using GoToMeeting. Each session will last approximately one hour. The Tuesday class will focus on Dynamo training. At the end of class, I will assign a Dynamo exercise for you to complete on your own. We will review the weekly assignment during Friday's session. I'll also answer any questions you have.

Q. I'm in a different time zone. Can I still take part even if I can't make every session?

A. Yes! All the sessions will be recorded. The recordings will be posted to the course site soon after each session. Plus, you will have unlimited access to the recordings and content after the course finishes.

Q. Do I need any prior Dynamo experience to take Dynamo Dojo? I've never used it before. Is this course appropriate for me?

A. Yes! Dynamo Dojo is for complete Dynamo beginners up to intermediate users. We're going to start with the basics and build on from there. The Friday sessions are for review and intended to be interactive. These sessions will be useful if you run into problems and need extra help from me.

Q. How much does Dynamo Dojo cost? Do you offer payment plans?

A. The cost of the course is $199 USD. I will likely increase the price next time I offer it. There is also a 3-month payment plan if you want to spread the payments out. The cost of the payment plan is $75 per month for three months. Additionally, I offer a group rate for three or more people from the same office. Email me and I'll give you the details.

Q. There are a lot of Dynamo tutorials available on YouTube? Why should I pay for a class when I can learn by myself for free?

A. There are definitely a lot of great tutorials available online. In fact, I've posted a bunch of my own. When you learn by yourself, however, you're literally on your own. It might take you a day or more to troubleshoot a simple problem you're having. You can post questions to forums but that doesn't always yield an immediate answer. With Dynamo Dojo, you benefit from a structured learning environment. You become part of a community of like-minded learners. And you get direct access to me should you have questions or run into problems.

A. You can see the outline of all the sessions in the section above. I'm fine-tuning the specific details for each session right now. I'm also going to leave in some flexibility so I can tailor the sessions to exactly what you're looking for. I will post updates to the outline shortly.
